Victoria, British Columbia is home to the oldest brewpub in Canada.  Victoria’s breweries are unique in that they respect the tradition of brewing, but they also provide a somewhat modern twist which makes each one an experience to remember.

Visitor Centre

Your first stop should be at the visitor centre to pick up your brewery map. You can choose to go in a set guided tour, or, if you are more adventurous, follow the detailed map, and you can stroll at your leisure.

Beer Pub Visit

Spinnakers offers 11 year-round brews. They also serve a farm to table menu and patrons have a breath-taking view of the water.

Swans is another recommendation. Swans serves brew without added syrup or sugar. Don’t let that deter you. The taste is amazing.

Canoe Brew Pub and Moon Under Water are also breweries not to be missed on your pub visit. You want to pace yourself, so you can visit each one.

A Lovely Pairing

Your next stop on your brewpub journey in Victoria should be learning how to perfectly pair each of your favourite brews with tantalizing foods that the local eateries offer.

The Drake Eatery, Yates Street Taphouse, and Garrick’s Head are just three of the amazing eateries you can find in Victoria. What a remarkable array of brews each establishment has to offer!

Going on Tour

Stop in at the Vancouver Island Brewery to see what makes that delicious, flavourful brew you enjoy so much. Tours are available Friday and Saturday afternoons.

Take it Home

Vancouver Island Brewery, Driftwood, Hoyne, and Moon Under Water are the perfect establishments to pick up some of the treasure you have learned about and experienced during the tour.

Going Above and Beyond

Go beyond the city of Victoria and explore even more of what the area has to offer. Category 12 just opened its lab to the public. This is a terrific way to actually see the chemical process of craft brewing. Sea Cider and Victoria Gin are also recommended.

Call a friend, significant other, or enjoy a day to yourself and take a tour of Victoria’s Craft Breweries. Take a guided tour or leisurely stroll on your own. It is a bucket list experience.
