Fishing is such a relaxing past time. There is nothing like spending the day on the lake. Fishing brings serenity and peace that you do not experience with other activities. Plus, the excitement of catching something brings tons of enjoyment.

If you wish to catch salmon you will have to attract them by using trolling lures and bait. Halibut depend more on scent, and are not as easy to hook. Every march the spawning of the Herring occurs, and the Victoria harbour turns into a feeding frenzy.
Fishing Victoria’s water ways is great for all levels. You don’t have to be a pro to snag a fish, but you will quickly learn what attracts specific fish. Whatever type of fishing you wish to enjoy you are sure to be pleased with what Victoria has to offer.
If you’re really lucky, you may even get a Sockeye salmon to jump right into your boat. They have been known to do this from time to time. There have been records of 5’7” halibut being caught, and weighing a whopping 165 pounds.
There’s nothing quite like getting a tug on your line, and the anticipation of how big the fish is on the other end. People from all over come to Victoria to catch salmon and halibut, as its some of the best fishing in the world. Plus, it is the absolute best way to see the beauty in Victoria. The big one is out there waiting on you, but beware of the jumping fish. Things can get a little wild.
