You can use your own boat, rent a boat from one of the many marinas, or choose to partake in one of the many guided cruises that are offered by local charter companies. This is the best way to experience life in Victoria, and discover all that the Vancouver Islands have to offer.

While sailing in Victoria’s waterways, you will spot some of the most stunning landscape, such as the Olympic Mountains, British Columbia, and so much more.

Inner Harbour – Victoria

Inner Harbour offers many different cruises to ensure all your sailing needs are fulfilled. These cruises will allow you to discover the West Coast of Victoria. While aboard, you can expect to engage in helping haul sails, climb rigging, fire cannons, possibly see some whales, and most of all relax and enjoy all the beauty.

They offer two different cruises.

  • 3-Hour Sail: This sail is $69 a person, and the destination will vary according to the wind and the tide. The cruise will leave from the harbor, and end within a 15 km of the Royal Roads. At this location, you will see the historical Fisgard Lighthouse, the Naval Harbour, Esquimalt Lagoon up to Whitty’s Lagoon.  Expect to go as far as the shipping lane, Clover Point and Trial Island.
  • 1.5-Hour Evening Harbour Cruise: This cruise is $49 a person, and consist mainly of the inner harbor. It will start with a tour of the harbor, where you will learn about the history behind it. If the weather is cooperative, the tour will move to the outer harbor. You will see the First Nations Land And Sea mural, which happens to be the largest mural in the world. The sails will then be launched, and the tour will end by slowly sailing back towards Victoria, as the sun is setting. The possibilities of seeing eagles, great blue herons, seals, dolphin, or whales are very good. So make sure to keep your eyes wide open.
