Get ready, Victoria. The MEC Snowfest Victoria is returning this November 30th. It’s a free event hosted by MEC Victoria for the fourth year in a row. The event is to celebrate all things snow to include vendors, local community groups and clubs. Check out their video presentations, prize draws, snow crafts, giveaway, information clinics and more. Here is what the MEC Snowfest Victoria is all about.

What to Expect

The event is a one-day event to feature:

  • Information clinics
  • Video presentations
  • Giveaways and prize draws
  • Face painting and snow crafts for kids
  • Vendors to speak to
  • Community groups and clubs to discuss snow sports

Exhibitors expected this year include the Canadian Parks & Wilderness Society, Outdoor Nation, Mountain Safety Research and the list keeps growing. The featured exhibitors are those with some of the leading snow sports brands that want to introduce new products and services.

Snowfest’s presenters include Chic Scott, worldwide climber, skier and writer, and Jan Neuspiel, director of Island Alpine Guide. Along with these presenters and exhibitors, you can participate in free clinics and workshops focused on winter sports on Vancouver Island, ski waxing by donation and kid’s wonderland area including snowflake tattoos, face painting and fun crafts for Christmas.

You can win prizes throughout the day for weekend passes to Mt. Cain Alpine Park, day passes to Mt. Washington Resort, tickets to the Banff Mountain Film Festival in Victoria and much more. Take part in the live auction for outdoor products as well.


The event is free and no charge for admission.

You can pay to participate in the Snow Swap in which people sell and buy outdoor gear. It’s $5 to get a half table and $10 for a full table.


On November 30th, 2014 the event will take place from 10am-5pm PST.


The event will take place at MEC Victoria 1450 Government Street in Victoria.

The MEC Snowfest Victoria is back for the 4th year and will be a great place to get together for snow sport lovers.
