This is also a historic area and was created in the late 19th century. The three-level building used to be home to lumberjacks, whalers and sailors, but has changed over the years into a top shopping destination in Victoria.
The Bay Centre - 1150 Douglas Street
If you prefer a bit more of a modern shopping experience, The Bay Centre is the place for you. This shopping mall was created to look like some of the most historic buildings in the city. You will find plenty of boutiques and shops throughout the three-floor shopping mall. Make sure to enjoy the glass atrium and central fountain while you're at The Bay Centre.
Government Street/Trounce Alley/Bastion Square
The top British goods and specialty stores are found on Government Street. Trounce Alley is found in this part of the city with all kinds of smaller fashion boutiques and cafes.
