WestShore is a golfing venue often taken advantage off by locals. Visitors and guests passing through, however, tend to realize how truly beautiful this golfing venue is. In fact, WestShore is home to some of the best golf clubs and golf courses you are going to find anywhere in Canada. If you love golfing and happen to be in Canada, you are only cheating yourself if you do not check this place out.

An Award Winning Golfing Venue

WestShore like to brag about how two of their golf courses were named in the 2014 issue of ScoreGolf for being in the top 100 golf courses. Bear Mountain and Royal Colwood, both made it to the top 50 in the list of 100. A third golf course, Olympic View, was in the list during a previous year.

The unfortunate truth is a lot of people see the restaurant name “Brasserie L Ecole” and are unwilling to give the place a real chance. There are a few different reasons this happens. First, the name really doesn’t tell you what kind of food or drinks to expect.

The second, is that it sounds like a pretentious and upscale place that is going to break the bank. If you can look past the name and give this place a try, you will find it really has a lot of great things to offer.

So, What Kind of Place is it?

The first and most important thing to know is this place is unpretentious. It serves drinks (a lo of beer) as well as simple and delicious food. The restaurant likes to identify itself as a French Bistro. It is a bold, cozy, and comfortable

Biking and Hiking

This area near Victoria provides plenty of areas for biking and hiking. You can enjoy the Galloping Goose Trail, Matheson Lake area or even the Sooke Potholes. All of these areas provide plenty of fun with lush forests and plenty of great scenery.

Camping

Whether you prefer a tent or an RV for camping, you will find plenty of WestShore spots to enjoy. Thetis Lake provides spots nearby for tent camping, while Fort Victoria has a full service RV park. You can even spend the night at Fort Rodd Hill at oTENTik. These are heated tents with full beds and plenty of historic fun to enjoy.
