Festivals with Plenty of Colour

If you prefer festivals with colour, art and fun, these choices are the best:

  • International Kite Festival - With lighted kites launching at 9pm on May 29th at Clover Point.
  • Victoria International Buskers Festival - From July 17th to 26th with plenty of street performers and more in downtown Victoria.
  • Chalk Festival - Starting on September 12th, this festival will turn the streets into colourful chalk paintings. It's the largest Chalk Festival in Canada.

It’s that time of year for the annual Selkirk Waterfront Festival again! The fun and free family event hosted by the Burnside Gorge Community Association is an event that you just cannot miss. Your family will have a blast.

Some of the great things planned are the Giant Swing Ride, inflatables, face painting, balloon animals and duck pond. There are some delicious food vendors available in the international food court such as:

Located on Antique Row, right in the centre of the Harris Green community.  Since 1991, the Blue Fox Café has been offering amazing dishes filled with fresh ingredients that are bought locally. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 3pm. Reservations can be made for parties of six or more. This is only offered Monday through Friday at 12pm to 1pm.
